I have some good news for those of you looking to buy or sell a home in Calgary in the coming months: The market is back to normal!
With a smaller inventory than last year, we've sold more homes. Additionally, the average home price is up by 10%.
This is important for Calgary homeowners, because your home value is going up and you know it will be continue to appreciate.
If you have considered buying there is simply no better time. The number of listings has doubled since earlier this year, meaning there is a wide selection of homes available. You have more choices, so you no longer have to fight over a home that isn't exactly what you need.
Here are the 5 things to consider when buying or selling a Calgary home this summer:
- The market is back to normal. This means there aren't as many multiple offer situations as there were at this time last year and buyers aren't being forced to settle for homes that are less than ideal.
- Average sales price is up. Now is the time to get the maximum value for your home.
- Low interest rates. With rates still at historic lows, financing your home is very affordable.
- Healthy demand. If your home is priced right and looks great, we have plenty of buyers.
- Don't always trust the media. With all the conflicting information out there, it's difficult to know which is accurate. Often, market data is months old and no longer relevant.
As you can see, we have ideal conditions for both selling your home at top value and buying a home that accommodates your needs.
I'd be happy to guide you through the buying and selling process.
As always, reach out to me with any questions you may have about the Calgary market!
